Just in – Tiger Signs with TaylorMade Golf @TaylorMadeGolf #TigerWoods

14-Time Major Winner to Play TaylorMade’s Industry-Leading Metalwoods, Irons and Wedges

Carlsbad, Calif. (January 25, 2017) – TaylorMade Golf Company, maker of the most-played driver on the PGA TOUR for 16 years and counting and an industry leader in product innovation and technology, announced today a multi-year contract has been reached with one of the most accomplished athletes in history, Tiger Woods.

Tiger will play TaylorMade’s driver, fairway woods, irons and wedges. The signing is a definitive move by the company that reaffirms its ongoing commitment to fielding the strongest Tour staff in the industry and putting the highest performing equipment in the hands of the best players in the world.

Tiger’s accolades are well documented since first turning professional in 1996 at the age of 20. The 14-time major championship winner holds countless amateur and professional records on the PGA TOUR that place him among the game’s all-time greats and have cemented his legacy as one of the greatest athletes of all time in any sport.

The eleven-time PGA TOUR Player of the Year will play TaylorMade metalwoods, irons and wedges as part of his club contract, with specific product models to be determined at the conclusion of Woods’ and TaylorMade’s extensive testing process.

Welcome to the FaMily, Tiger

Further, Tiger will co-create with TaylorMade’s club engineers and have an integral role in the design and development of a new, personalized iron model that will make its debut in Tiger’s bag at a future date to be determined.

“Throughout my career, I’ve always been meticulous about my equipment. Over the past few months, I’ve had clubs from every brand sent to me to test. When it came to making a final decision, the choice was easy—it all came down to performance, which is why I chose TaylorMade.”Tiger Woods

Tiger’s history with the brand goes back to his days as the world’s top amateur, when he played TaylorMade metalwoods in his victories at both the 1994 &’95 U.S. Amateur Championships in addition to multiple other junior and professional tournaments on Tour.

“Our product teams at TaylorMade have a singular focus – to create the best performing golf equipment in the world. We are thrilled that Tiger has chosen to play TaylorMade. His impact on the game of golf is undeniable and we are honored to have him part of our team.” David Abeles, CEO, TaylorMade Golf Company

We Love Tommy Bahama! @TommyBahama @RealRickyBarnes

January 18, 2017
For Immediate Release
Tommy Bahama Teams Up with PGA player Ricky Barnes
Tommy Bahama, the iconic island lifestyle brand, has signed PGA TOUR player
Ricky Barnes to an exclusive multi-year wardrobe agreement. Barnes will wear Tommy Bahama apparel while playing on the PGA TOUR, as well as for other professional and personal appearances.
Tommy Bahama takes a relaxed, modern approach to sportswear, offering the ultimate in performance and luxury. Ricky Barnes’ wardrobe of Tommy Bahama polos, woven shirts, knits, outerwear and performance golf pants will feature the brand’s new IslandZone collection, which is crafted from a revolutionary new technical fabric. The IslandZone fabric uses the 37.5 yarn, which is derived from coconut shells and volcanic sand, in knit and woven styles to create super-soft, high-performance technical garments that help regulate body temperature and wick away perspiration. IslandZone polos and woven shirts not only attract and evaporate moisture in the vapor stage, before it becomes sweat, but also dry quickly and help control odor. These high performance fabrics are perfect for life on and off the course.
“Tommy Bahama has been involved in golf for years and we’re excited to now partner with Ricky Barnes,” said Doug Wood, CEO of Tommy Bahama. “Ricky has a great sense of style and with the launch of IslandZone, our new performance apparel that Ricky will be wearing, the timing couldn’t be better. His passion for golf and relaxed personality makes Ricky a great brand ambassador for Tommy Bahama.”
Tommy Bahama, whose philosophy is Make Life One Long Weekend™, has become a staple for the discerning golfer. Ricky Barnes joins other celebrated golfers who are already livening up the course in Tommy Bahama apparel, including PGA TOUR player Ken Duke and golf legend Tom Lehman, who has worn the brand since 2002.
“I appreciate the support of Tommy Bahama,” said Barnes, “and, no pun intended, it’s a great fit. I’m proud to represent a company whose attitude toward both life and golf mirror mine.”
Barnes, the 2002 U.S. Amateur Champion and co-holder of the 2003 Ben Hogan Award as the top collegiate player, is in his ninth year on the PGA TOUR. He made it through two rounds of the FedEx Playoffs in 2016. Stylish and outgoing, Barnes is a real fan favorite who truly embodies the Tommy Bahama lifestyle.

Rocco Mediate Signs with Vertical Groove Golf @vertgolf @RoccoMediate

Vertical Groove Golf must have something good over there, John Daly and now Rocco Mediate. We will keep an eye on Vertical Groove Golf.

For Immediate Release

Rocco Mediate Signs with Vertical Groove Golf; 2016 Sr. PGA Champion

To Use New Vertical Groove Driver on PGA TOUR Champions

Boston, MA … January 17, 2017 … 2016 Sr. PGA Champion, Rocco Mediate, has signed a multi-year deal with Vertical Groove Golf, LLC, and will now tee off with the Vertical Groove Driver when competing on the PGA TOUR Champions and other professional golf tournaments in 2017, and beyond.  This news comes on the heels of Vertical Groove Golf’s recent signing of two-time Major Champion, John Daly.

As part of his agreement with Vertical Groove Golf, Mediate will serve as a Global Ambassador for the Company, while sporting the Vertical Groove Golf logo on his left shirt collar.

The Vertical Groove Driver, which conforms to the Rules of Golf, is the only golf club innovation to enter the market featuring vertical groove technology on the club face. The Vertical Groove Driver technology reduces side spin at impact, leading to 40% straighter ball flight on average, while also generating greater energy at impact, resulting in a stronger forward roll and increased driving distance.

“I’ve tested the Vertical Groove Driver extensively and I am very happy with how it performs off the tee,” said Mediate.  “I am excited to put the driver into play on tour and I look forward to a truly successful partnership with Vertical Groove Golf.”

Mediate, 53, who owns 13 professional victories, captured his first major championship in 2016 when he holed out from a greenside bunker for birdie on the par-3 17th to secure a record-setting, wire-to-wire victory in the Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid, at Harbor Shores Golf Club in Benton Harbor, Michigan.

“Rocco is one of the most popular players in the game today and has enjoyed a great career on tour, especially in adding a Sr. PGA Championship to his portfolio of professional victories,” said Jeff Barry, Chief Executive Officer, Vertical Groove Golf, LLC.  “As a tremendous ambassador of the sport, we are thrilled to have Rocco join the Vertical Groove Golf family and showcase the performance benefits of our driver each week on tour.”

The 450cc Vertical Groove Driver, which is available in both right and left handed models, is offered in 9.5, 10.5 and 12 degree lofts, and features a full range of Aldila premium grade, tour-proven aftermarket NV2K series shafts as standard.  The available flexes include: 45 gram L (Ladies), 50 gram A (Senior), 55 gram R (Regular), 65 gram S (Stiff) and 65 gram X (Extra-stiff).   At a length of 45.75 inches, the Vertical Groove Driver provides an optimum launch angle while maximizing carry distance and ball speed for many players. It is equipped with Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips in standard, midsize and oversize models.  Alternative shaft options from Fujikura, Mitsubishi and Aldila also will be available. Suggested retail price of the Vertical Groove Driver is $399.99.

More information on the Vertical Groove Driver is available at www.vertgolf.com or via social media profiles on Facebook and YouTube at Vertical Groove Golf, and @vertgolf on Twitter.

Awesome News from @NoteCaddie

Dear #NoteCaddieArmy,

It is with sincere excitement that we share some important news about our application.

NoteCaddie started in 2015 as a simple idea, born out of a desire to improve on our ability to play the game we love – The idea that if every Pro takes notes on the courses they play, the amateur could benefit from it as well – if only there was an effective tool that fit the amateur’s game.

From then until now, NoteCaddie has tried several different channels to bring this idea to fruition, with the growing support of you, and the #NoteCaddieArmy.

While our initial intention was to build our app using an established software development company, NoteCaddie Mobile Golf is pleased to announce that production has begun ‘in-house’ on the the NoteCaddie app for iOS!!!

Your support on the project has been an inspiration to us and we can’t wait to provide with you with an awesome tool out on the golf course. Please take a couple more minutes to read more about the timeline, what this means for you, and how you can be involved – from testing to course submission – by clicking below to see our full blog on this exciting news. As always, brownie points when you share the news with your golfing friends!
