Nikon Introduces the World’s First Vibration Reduction Golf Laser Rangefinders*

 

Melville, NY (October 6, 2016) – Nikon Sport Optics has officially announced the release of its revolutionary new products, the COOLSHOT 80i VR and COOLSHOT 80 VR Golf Laser Rangefinders.  Featuring Nikon’s optical VR (Vibration Reduction) Technology, the COOLSHOT 80i/80 VR are the world’s first laser rangefinders to compensate for the human body’s physical inability to be completely still.  COOLSHOT 80i/80 VR Laser Rangefinders enable golfers to literally “Become Unshakable.”

The COOLSHOT 80i/80 VR represent a major step in golfing technology by helping alleviate the effects that cold, wind, unbalanced position, physical exertion or just plain-old tournament pressure can have on a golfer.  Nikon’s optical VR technology reduces the effect of external vibrations caused by inadvertent hand movements while ranging distant objects.  For golfers, this means the target mark on the rangefinder remains stable, even when the body of the rangefinder is being moved.  Not only does this provide the user with a steady image, it also stabilizes the activated laser, allowing it to maintain greater alignment for enhanced measurement performance.

Employing Nikon’s optical VR (Vibration Reduction) system, vibrations of the image in the viewfinder caused by hand movement are reduced**, while simultaneously aligning the viewed image with the activated laser beam.  Because you can direct the laser onto the target faster and more easily, the ease of measurement to a small subject is greatly improved; all achieved by Nikon’s original technologies that are a fusion of VR technology and high-performance measurement function.

The optical VR Function begins immediately when the laser rangefinder is on, meaning there is no extra time spent trying to toggle between settings.  Holding down the ranging button allows the user to continuously scan for 8 seconds.  A fast measurement is received (in approximately half a second), regardless of the distance, thanks to Nikon’s HYPER READ technology.  COOLSHOT 80i/80 VR have an effective measurement range of 8-1000 yards and display measurements in .1-yard increments.

Both models feature Nikon’s new LOCKED ON Technology and employ the First Target priority mode.  These features give golfers confidence when measuring overlapping subjects such as a flagstick with trees in the background, to ascertain that when the LOCKED ON sign appears, golfers know that they are reading the distance of the target closer to them.

CARLSBAD, Calif., Oct. 23, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Callaway Golf Company (NYSE: ELY) today announced that it has signed 2017 NCAA Player of the Year Sam Burns to a staff pro agreement. The 21-year-old LSU alum turned professional last month, and he is making his professional PGA Tour debut this week at the Sanderson Farms Championship.

Burns, as a sophomore, was the most dominant player in college golf during the 2016-17 season. He won 4 tournaments, including the David Toms Intercollegiate, The Prestige at PGA West, and the Baton Rouge Regional. In addition to winning the NCAA Division I Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year, he was voted SEC Player of the Year and a 1st Team All-American. He also set the LSU single-season scoring record (70.04).

Burns also posted a T6 finish as an amateur at the Barbasol Championship in July. In fact, he posted 18 under par to set the single tournament scoring record (in relation to par) by an amateur in the history of the PGA Tour. Burns earned his spot in the field by winning the Barbasol Shootout in June, where he carded a 5 under 65 in the one-day event.

“I am so excited to play Callaway as I start my professional career,” Burns said. “I have been using their clubs and have seen just how good the performance is, especially in my new driver and irons. I’m entering this next phase of my golf career with a lot of confidence.”

Nexbelt® “The Belt With No Holes” donates to Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund

(RANCHO CUCAMONGA) – Nexbelt®, “The Belt With No Holes”, announced today that they’ve donated $1,000.00 to the American Red Cross for the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund, and in addition, will be donating 20% of all Heritage Texas Belt and Buckle sales (both retail and wholesale) to the fund between now and December 31, 2017.

“The American Red Cross is using donor dollars right now to provide food, shelter and emergency support for individuals and families affected by Hurricane Harvey,” said Eddie Rowland, Co-Founder of Nexbelt, “and their work has just begun. We’ve committed to assist their efforts for the rest of this year and bring whatever support we can to the victims of this devastating storm.”

AT&T Byron Nelson Announces Record Net Proceeds for Momentous Institute
The Salesmanship Club of Dallas’ 2017 tournament raised $6.8 million 

Dallas, Texas, Aug. 25, 2017 – The Salesmanship Club Charitable Golf of Dallas today announced that the 2017 AT&T Byron Nelson raised a record $6.8 million. Proceeds from the tournament will help continue building and repairing social emotional health for kids and families through Momentous Institute. The tournament has raised over $155 million for Momentous Institute since 1968, helping to transform more than 100,000 kids and families’ lives.

“This year we set out to make the AT&T Byron Nelson’s final year in Irving our best yet, and to celebrate our long relationship with the Irving community and the Four Seasons,” said Tim Costello, 2017 Tournament Chair. “We are grateful to the countless people who came together to make sure we raised the most we could for the kids and families we serve through Momentous Institute.”

The Salesmanship Club of Dallas has owned and operated Momentous Institute since 1920 and began operating the PGA TOUR event in 1968.

Momentous Institute directly serves more than 6,000 kids and family members annually through therapeutic and educational services. In order to change the odds for far more children than could be served directly, the organization extends its social emotional health expertise by investing in research and offering training nationwide.

The 2018 AT&T Byron Nelson will be held May 14-20 at its new location at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas. Find more information about the new course and next year’s tournament here.
