AT&T Byron Nelson Announces Record Net Proceeds for Momentous Institute
The Salesmanship Club of Dallas’ 2017 tournament raised $6.8 million

Dallas, Texas, Aug. 25, 2017 – The Salesmanship Club Charitable Golf of Dallas today announced that the 2017 AT&T Byron Nelson raised a record $6.8 million. Proceeds from the tournament will help continue building and repairing social emotional health for kids and families through Momentous Institute. The tournament has raised over $155 million for Momentous Institute since 1968, helping to transform more than 100,000 kids and families’ lives.

“This year we set out to make the AT&T Byron Nelson’s final year in Irving our best yet, and to celebrate our long relationship with the Irving community and the Four Seasons,” said Tim Costello, 2017 Tournament Chair. “We are grateful to the countless people who came together to make sure we raised the most we could for the kids and families we serve through Momentous Institute.”

The Salesmanship Club of Dallas has owned and operated Momentous Institute since 1920 and began operating the PGA TOUR event in 1968.

Momentous Institute directly serves more than 6,000 kids and family members annually through therapeutic and educational services. In order to change the odds for far more children than could be served directly, the organization extends its social emotional health expertise by investing in research and offering training nationwide.

The 2018 AT&T Byron Nelson will be held May 14-20 at its new location at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas. Find more information about the new course and next year’s tournament here.

Fantasy Golf Picks for the AT&T Byron Nelson #FantasyGolf

1. Dustin Johnson: DJ has five straight top-20 finishes including four top-10s in Dallas. I’ll take DJ to win in the “Big D” any time.

2. Charley Hoffman: Charley and the Lone Star State, and he won in San Antonio this year and he was runner-up last year at the Byron Nelson. Hoffman has plenty of momentum go in to the Metroplex, including the win at the Valero Texas Open and top-15 finishes in Hilton Head and New Orleans.

3. Matt Kuchar: Kuchar boast a solid history in Dallas having finished T-15 or better in three of his last five trips there and he finished T-3 last week at The Players Championship all with a big smile.

4. Jordan Spieth: The world No. 2 finished T-16 here as a 16-year-old amateur back in 2010, even with a missed cut at The Players you should never count Jordan out at home.

5. Louis Oosthuizen: The South African finished T-28 last week, T-15 finish at the Masters and he had finished T-11 last year.

6. Sergio Garcia: Garcia won this event in 2004, but he hasn’t been back since a T-20 finish in 2011 because in the past it has conflicted with the Open de Espana. Despite being unfairly made the anti-Tiger early in his playing career by the U.S. golfing media and the lack of a major, Sergio is always one to watch and currently at #15 in the World Golf Rankings.
